Many of you have attended one of the various recent BQA certification training sessions offered around the county. If you have not yet been certified, you need to go on-line and get the training. No more in person meetings are currently scheduled in Grant county.

Rethinking Pets for Presents

The thought of a cuddly puppy or kitten under the Christmas tree may be tempting, but think twice before giving a pet as a present. The months following the holidays are often the busiest time for shelters as new pet owners grow weary of their Christmas gifts and the unexpected demands they require. Some shelters estimate that 50 percent of pets given as gifts end up abandoned.

TUBERCULOSIS FOUND IN DAIRY HERD

Tuberculosis has recently been diagnosed in a cow at slaughter from a dairy herd near Lodi, Wisconsin. This animal was culled for other reasons and was not showing signs of respiratory disease, but the lungs had nodules seen by the inspectors at the slaughter plant. The nodules were tested and found to be bovine tuberculosis.
